Rallies throw traffic out of gear

THE CANDIDATES belonging to various political parties took out large processions in the city, throwing the traffic out of gear. All the roads, leading to the district collectorate where nominations were being filed, were abuzz with activities. The candidates belonging to various political parties went there in processions to file nominations. Today was the third of filing nomination papers for the local bodies election. As many as seven nomination papers were filed for mayoral post.

The candidates belonging to various political parties went there in processions to file nominations. Today was the third of filing nomination papers for the local bodies election.

As many as seven nomination papers were filed for mayoral post. The candidates who filed their nominations on Thursday included Hargovind Gupta (independent), Shivshambhu Nishad (probable Cong candidate), Mohd Arif (joint candidate of Apna Dal and JD-U), Chhedi Jaiswal (BSP) , Sitaram Jaiswal (SP) and Anil Jaiswal (Purvanchal Banao Dal).

The supporters of the SP took out an impressive procession and their candidate Sitaram Jaiswal reached the collectorate to file nominations. He was accompanied by State Minister Jaipraksh Yadav.

Earlier, Pawan Kumar Singh and Ram Pravesh Samar Yadav filed their nomination papers as independent candidates.

Similarly, the nomination papers for Panchayat election were also filed.
