A series of dharnas, hunger strikes and candle light marches are planned for the weekend when thousands join in the protest.

Mohit Malik, a resident of Sushant Lok, was stuck in a traffic jam at HUDA City Centre Metro station roundabout for about half an hour.

"A friend called and told me to avoid coming to Galleria market as all roads were blocked," he added.

RS Rathee, president of Gurgaon Citizens' Council, said: “Thousands of people from all walks of life are expected to join the rally on Saturday morning when we sit on a day's huger strike in support of Anna Hazare’s crusade.”
