PC Meena, along with a team of officials from Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG), Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) and senior town planner Yusuf Mansuri also inspected the site on Wednesday.

However, Rapid Metro Rail Limited vice president Hukum Singh Chowdhary, who represented the firm during the exercise along with other officials, said that the DMRC Metro line and shopping malls on MG road are compounding the problem.

“Moreover, the road geometry on the stretch between Sikanderpur rotary to Cyber City and the national highway is such that it makes traffic conflicts unavoidable. The presence of a power substation adds to the mess. The state government, however, has now allowed construction of a subway on the 900-metre stretch from Sikanderpur to DLF Phase-II to ease traffic congestion,” Chowdhary added.

Keeping all these factors in mind, Meena directed the Rapid Metro officials to deploy more traffic marshals and keep a tow away vehicle at its disposal to deal with vehicle breakdowns swiftly. On being asked about the potholes on the road, Chowdhary said that it was due to lack of proper drainage. Meena, however, asked the firm to keep repairing the roads till the monsoons are over.
