Religious fervour marks Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in city

RELIGIOUS FERVOUR gripped the city on the occasion of Janmashtami on August 16.

Shri Shiv Hanuman Mandir located at Beli Substation was beautifully decorated on the occasion.

The first Janmashtami celebration at the temple dates back to 1985. Puja and arti were performed in the evening this year. Colourful tableaux built on the occasion marked the event.

Likewise, Janmashtami celebrations took place at Mahashaktipeeth Maa Kalyani Devi Ji temple on Wednesday amidst the chants of Vedic mantras.

The artists from Kolkata and Allahabad decorated splendid tableaux in the temple premises. The celebrations will continue till August 22. Various shingars of the idols of Maa Kalyani and Sri Radhakrishna Ji will take place each day.

Unique tableaux made out of various vegetables was displayed at Sathya Sai Temple in Ashok Nagar. Devotees thronged the temple to witness the tableaux and attended the Janmashtami celebrations.

Gaudiya Math at Tularam Bagh was decorated with colourful lights on the occasion. Tableaux displayed were the main attraction. Bhandara at the temple will take place on August 20.
