SEPARATE COUNTER for women at Public Reservation System (PRS) at Charbagh railway station would cease to exist. As per the new system introduced on Monday, the facility goes. “There’s no need for it as people will have to take turn as per the coupons,” said the ADRM (II) R Singh.

As per the new system, there would be at the most two persons waiting at the counter, so where’s the need for separate queue for women, said the ADRM (II).
A separate queue, however, has been dedicated to the senior citizens, MPs, handicapped, etc.

People falling in this category will not have to take tokens and could get tickets booked directly from the assigned counter. Briefing about the new system, Divisional Railway Manager (NR) R K Gupta claimed the system would rid people of the cumbersome procedure required to wait in queue. It’s pertinent to note that in one of the studies conducted by the railways, it was found that a person had to wait for 45 minutes in queue for his turn to get the tickets booked. But the new system promises to make the procedure free of hassle.
