Residents stage demonstration against erratic power supply

The activists of Purvanchal Vikas Manch took out a token funeral procession of general manager of Purvanchal Power Corporation from Piplani Katra area and torched the effigy at Azad Park.

The activists of Purvanchal Vikas Manch took out a token funeral procession of general manager of Purvanchal Power Corporation from Piplani Katra area and torched the effigy at Azad Park.
The processionists were raising slogans such as ‘Bijli Vibhag Murdabad’, ‘Aghoshit Vidyut Katauti Band Karo’, ‘Bhrashtachar Band Karo’, etc. It was observed that unscheduled and frequent cuts have thrown life of common people out of gear.
Shambhu Nath Chaurasia, Rajesh Seth, Munna Saroj, Mukesh Saroj, Ranjeet Gupta and Vivek Gupta were among others who took out the funeral procession and denounced the unscheduled powers cuts.
The activists of Rashtriya Ekta Party staged a dharna at District Headquarters and decried the poor power scenario here today. It was alleged that citizens were reeling under severe power crisis due to undeclared power rostering.
Gulab Das Sahu, Manoj Kumar Jaiswal, Sanjay Keshari and Ajay Keshari were among others who staged the dharna. They said that outdated wires and transformers were the main reason behind erratic power supply.
