"Unless the Congress MPs, ministers and MLAs resign from their posts, there will not be pressure on the high command. Hence, all of them should put in their papers at once," TDP Politburo member Nagam Janardhana Reddy said.

Talking to reporters at the end of the meeting of TDP leaders from Telangana in Hyderabad today, Nagam said all the MLAs who have already submitted their resignations, demanding immediate formation of Telangana state, would meet Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy and press for their acceptance.

"We shall bring pressure on the Speaker and prevail upon him to accept our resignations," Nagam added.

The TDP extended its support to the December 30 Telangana bandh call given by the Political Joint Action Committee.

Nagam asserted that the TDP would carry out all its agitation programmes in a peaceful manner and exhorted the party cadre to ensure success of the bandh.

The TDP also extended support to the proposed students' rally in Hyderabad on January 3 in support of a Telangana state.

The Telangana leaders have informed party chief N Chandrababu Naidu of their decision and promised to do everything in a totally peaceful manner without causing trouble to the people, the sources added.
