Resolve unrest in AP over Telangana immediately: BJP to Centre

Appealing to leaders of different political parties to maintain "restraint", BJP Andhra Pradesh unit today urged the Central government to resolve immediately the prevailing volatile situation in the state over the Telangana issue.

Appealing to leaders of different political parties to maintain "restraint", BJP Andhra Pradesh unit on Wednesday urged the Central government to resolve immediately the prevailing volatile situation in the state over the Telangana issue.

"There should be an amicable solution to the present political crisis on the issue and people should not be provoked for selfish gains by the political leaders", senior BJP leader and former union minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao told reporters in Hyderabad.

Referring to the agitation in support of united Andhra Pradesh, the BJP leaders said the people of Telangana wanted an amicable separation as there was no agitation in support of united state in 10 districts of Telangana region.

Rao hold the ruling Congress responsible for the present unrest in the state.

The party's state chief Bandaru Dattatreya and official spokesperson N Ramachander Rao were also present.
