California Pizza Kitchen recently launched an extensive range of products that are on sale at the pizza chain’s outlets across the city. From breads and cakes to sauces and butters, there are over 100 items in 13 categories. While CPK is the latest eatery to join the bandwagon, many have contributed to this trend too. We take a look at the various items on sale at these eateries, and what their creators recommend. The Table

pizza

The restaurant started selling deli products only last month, and met with great success. "We’ve seen a rising trend in customers wanting to take home our ingredient-driven cuisine, so we decided to introduce this made-to-order service of pastas, dips, breads and snacks. Our Chicken Liver Pate, Cajun Mayo and Olive Tapenade have been doing very well," says Gauri Devidayal, the owner of the restaurant

Owner’s recommendation: Scones with Devonshire Cream and Jam Prices: Fresh, house-made pasta sells at Rs 500 for 500 gm while scones cost Rs 400 for six pieces. Try their cookies from Rs 300 or cinnamon buns at Rs 350. Pates sell at Rs 400 for 200 gm.

Indigo Deli
With three outlets in the city that stock everything from cold cuts and cheeses to mustards and bagels, the popularity of this deli has been soaring of late. “Our in-house products are popular because they are homemade and don’t contain any artificial preservatives,” says Jaideep Mukherjee, executive chef, Indigo Delicatessen. While mustards, jams and dressings need to be ordered in advance, some outlets don’t stock meats and cheeses. The chef claims that his hot-sellers include seasonal jams, Apple Pecan Butter, Deli House Ground Mustard and salad dressings. While bagels are lapped up at the Bandra outlet, the Colaba crowd favours their baguettes.
Chef’s recommendation: Salad dressing oils, Cranberry Mustard, Honey and Pink Peppercorn Mustard
Prices: Breads from R60, jams from R130-R260, R120-R155 for mustards and dressings from R120 onwards.
