Rise in human population big threat to wildlife: Laad

Laad explained that the explosion of human population is the major factor that is threatening wildlife. He said the natural habitat of the wildlife was facing destruction and thus wildlife was facing problem of existence.

He spoke about the importance of tiger in our society, including mythological, religious, socio-cultural, economic and scientific importance.

Presenting a slide show on Saras crane, the wildlife enthusiast mentioned that once Saras crane was widely distributed in Central and Northern India but is not found much now.

Fast spreading human habitats destroyed the paddy fields and marshy lands that were once home to Saras cranes. He also said that people living close to the forests could really play important role in conservation. Laad also called for steps to curb poaching to save the wildlife.
