RLD to tie-up for block pramukh polls

Addressing party workers, Verma said seat adjustment with the alliance political parties should be reached before Block Pramukh poll. “Confusion prevailed in the Zila Panchayat Chairman election since there was no agreement with the allies” he rued.

Expressing concern over the continuing cold wave in West UP, Verma said potato farmer suffered losses. Around 70 percent of the potato was destroyed due to weather vagaries. RLD will urge the State Government to pay compensation to the farmers, he said. Arrears of sugarcane farmers should also be cleared, he said.

Verma said the RLD would draw the attention of the government toward power crisis in the rural areas. The farmers are facing a problem in irrigating their field. RLD has already urged the government to ensure 14 hours power supply in the rural areas, he said.
