GENERAL MANAGER North Eastern Railway, SK Vij, claimed here that dedication and performance of the employees had improved the image of the railway zone as far as amenities for passengers were concerned.
He was delivering his views at the 51st Railway Week celebrations at Syed Modi Railway Stadium on Thursday. He awarded shields and certificates to around 97 railway employees of various divisions. Vij called upon the employees to take a lesson from the honesty and dedication of those who were awarded today.
Sources said station masters, guards, train controllers, cabin men, drivers, section engineers and commercial officers along with sanitation employees, Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans and clerks were awarded in the programme.
The Gweneral Manager also lauded railway employees for their performance and coordination in different divisions of the NE Railway.
He expressed hope that the employees would further improve the performance of the NE Railway and increase its income.
Sources said that railway employees were pleased with the recognition of their services. They repeatedly said that Minister for Railway Lalu Prasad Yadav had highlighted railwaymen’s services.
The Divisional Railway Mnagers s and in-charge of various departments of the railways were present on this occasion.
