The unit owner Ashok Khurana said that around dozen men in age group of 25-30 years barged into the premises of his unit at around 1.30 am and tied up his security guard and two employees who were on duty.
“They had also brought small truck with them and escaped after collecting the finished batteries and raw material. Their images have been captured in the Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) installed inside the premises,” Khurana said.
Security guard Jai Prakash said he was reading a book when robbers barged inside.
“They told us to keep quiet or else face consequences. They were armed with knives and countrymade weapons,” Prakash said.
Police said the robbers belonged to an organized gang operating in the area.
“No arrests have been made so far. We are scanning the CCTV footage of the sequence of events. Around 5 tonnes of raw-material has been taken,” said DIG Akhil Kumar.
