"I'm amazed how lifestyles of the queens were. It must have taken them hours to get ready," said the 34-year-old former Miss World.

"It was a tiring experience sometimes to go through the entire process of putting on the jewellery and wearing the dresses," she said.

"But I was thrilled to be part of the royal experience."

The film, which opens on February 15, will feature Aishwarya wearing traditional silk outfits and jewellery of the era. If reports are to be believed director Ashutosh Gowariker had asked the actress to wear real gold and emarald jewellery to make her character look real.

The actress, who is paired opposite Hrithik Roshan, will also be seen wielding a sword against him in a playful fight sequence.
