Officials said that the total value of the land, which has been usurped is worth over Rs 1,000 crore.

On Wednesday, Shravan Kumar Sharma, the District Magistrate of Noida and Greater Noida have ordered an inquiry into the landscam.

“We are scrutinising all land records. It would take us about a week to detect the extent of the land scam. At present market rate, the land that has been grabbed is worth Rs 1,000 crore,” said S.K. Dwivedi, Additional District Magistrate.

Officials said that the land mafia in nexus with revenue department officials first opened new accounts and forged old land records transferring land in their name. “Back date entries were made in the record books dating back to 1967. No officer’s order or case number was mentioned against which these entries were made in the record book,” said an official.

Forty five khasras that were under Surajpur comprising 1 to9 and16,19,98,100,178,179,121,142 belonged to the gram sabha as per the land revenue records and were illegally transferred.
