Rs 1.50 crore cash seized from air passenger

In a major haul, custom officials seized around Rs 1.50 crore unaccounted cash from two passengers bound for Sharjah by an Emirates flight at the Bengaluru International Airport on Thursday. The duo had been arrested.

In a major haul, custom officials seized around Rs 1.50 crore unaccounted cash from two passengers bound for Sharjah by an Emirates flight at the Bengaluru International Airport on Thursday. The duo had been arrested, police said.

Khwaja Moinuddin Yusuf (40) and Farooq (36), Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, were caught by the custom sleuths when they were about to board the flight, Assitant Commissioner of Police, Devanahalli, H D Anand Kumar told PTI.

"While Rs 76.40 lakh was recovered from Yusuf, Rs 73.27 lakh was seized from Farooq. They were immediately arrested and are now in police custody", he said.
