Rs 235 cr undisclosed income detected from MP, Ch’garh

The income tax department has detected undisclosed income to the tune of around Rs 235 crore in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the financial year 2008-09.

The income tax department has detected undisclosed income to the tune of around Rs 235 crore in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the financial year 2008-09.

The Director-General (Investigations) for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Brajesh Gupta said here that during the financial year 2008-09, 29 raids were conducted and 104 surveys were carried out.

Gupta said that during this period, undisclosed income worth Rs 234.76 crore was detected and added that cash and jewellery worth Rs. 14.20 crore in black money were also found.

He said that this black income during 2008-09 in the two states had risen by 152 per cent as compared to the previous financial year.

Undisclosed income for Rs 38.11 crore was detected in the Rauipur region and Rs 29.53 crore in the Bhopal area during 2008-09.
