Amidst controversies around conversion and the saffronisation of education, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is organising a three-day meet in Gujarat to discuss strengthening the organisation and taking its ideology to the grassroots level in the state.

To be held between January 2nd and 4th on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will address the event.

“The last meet held in the state was in 2000. More than 25,000 volunteers from across the state will participate in the meet to discuss various issues,” RSS Gujarat head Jayantibhai Bhadeshia told reporters.

When asked if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders, who once worked as RSS pracharaks in the state, have been invited for the meet, he said invitations have been sent to everyone: “Those who worked in RSS in Gujarat like Narendrabhai and others like Sanjay Joshi have been invited to participate in the meet.”

“Sarsanghchalak (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah (general secretary) Bhaiyaji Joshi will attend the camp on all three days. Bhagwat will inaugurate the camp and also give his guidance to our cadres,” Bhadeshia added.
