The attendants alleged that Shamin died due to the negligence of the doctors. Subsequently, they manhandled the doctors.

Notably, she had been admitted to the Trauma Centre on June 29. Resident doctors, however, said that she died on account of multiple organ failure. When the situation took a turn for the worse, the police were called to intervene. An unnamed FIR was lodged in this connection.

Counselling cancelled: Following scrutiny of documents, the KGMU staff rejected a student who had secured an MBBS seat at the KGMU following counselling, held at Meerut.

Despite the fact that candidate Sanjiv Kumar belonged to the OBC category, he did not avail his weightage and applied as a general candidate. In the general category, his rank was 53rd. But, the staff, after scrutinising his documents, denied him admission because Kumar has secured only 42 per cent marks in his Intermediate. The case was referred to the office of director general (Medial Education).
