Rule of law established in Bihar: CM

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today claimed that it was during his rule that the rule of law had been established for the first time in Bihar.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday claimed that it was during his rule that the rule of law had been established for the first time in Bihar.

Kumar said ever since he took over the reins of Bihar in 2005, he had worked overtime to improve the law and order which had yielded results .

" Now couples can be seen moving around freely on the streets of the state capital and other parts of Bihar even in the late hours of the night", he said.

" Those who used to take law into their hands are now fearing the law enforcing agencies", the chief minister said.

The chief minister who was addressing the 19th conference of Bihar Policemens' Association (BPA) at police Line maidan here said the state government has decided to increase the dress allowance from the present Rs 2,600 to Rs 4,000 annually on the persistent demands of the policemen.

The state government, he said, had also decided to hike the deputation allowance of Bihar Military Police (BMP) jawans deputed outside the headquarters .
