Ruling TDP fielded two women candidates

In 21 LS constituencies going to poll in first phase of elections, the ruling TDP fielded two women candidates including a sitting MP in dissolved LS.

In 21 Lok Sabha constituency which is going to poll in first phase of elections on April 20, the ruling TDP fielded two women candidates including a sitting MP in the dissolved Lok Sabha, Dr SugunaKumari from Peddapalli (reserved) constituency.

The opposition Congress party gave tickets to three women candidates including party's fire brand leader Renuka Chowdhary who was represented from Khammam in the dissolved Lok Sabha.

BJP, which has seat adjustment with TDP and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) did not file any women candidates from any of Lok Sabha constituency in the first phase.

While TDP fielded Phaniswaramma from Bhadrachalam and Suguna Kumari from Peddapalli, the women candidates of congress are: Renuka Chowdhary (Khammam), B Jhansi (Bobbili) and K Kriparani (Srikakulam) who was pitted against TDPP former lader K yerram Naidu.

Of the 42 Loksabha constituencies where women voters are outnumbered men voters are: Srikakulam (500339) Parvathipura (463371), Bobbili (499987), Bhadrachalam (SC) 583662, Anakapalli (527245), NagarKurnool (654464), Mahabubnagar (692711), Nizamabad (599740), Adilabad (583608), Khammam (651143), Kakinada (586243), Eluru (582201), Guntur (591014), Ongole (535459), Nellore (581856), Chittoor (591316), Cuddapah (584313) and Kurnool Loksabha constiruency (663128).
