Rural Punjab is ready for Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker who will arrive in Chandigarh on Monday on a two-day visit to promote organic farming in Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Ropar districts.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall would arrive by air, accompanied by a delegation of 26 officials from London and seven from the British High Commission in New Delhi, a Punjab Government spokesman said on Sunday.
Charles would go by helicopter to Bhatt Majra village in Fatehgarh Sahib district on Sirhind-Rajpur GT Road to see farms that have opted for organic farming while Camilla would leave Chandigarh for Patiala by road, he said.
Tight security is in place in Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Ropar with the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh personally monitoring arrangements for the visit of the Prince.
The royal couple would formally launch the Bhumi Vardaan Foundation at Patiala aimed at supporting farmers who want to engage in sustainable agriculture.
The Prince would visit Punjab Agri Food Park at Fatehgarh Sahib where the foundation is to be headquartered and get a first-hand knowledge of the working of the park like packaging and marketing of the produce.

Charles would also visit an exhibition on Punjab's agriculture sector, diversification and focus on cultivation of natural and organic produce where farm machinery specially adapted to benefit small farmers and traditional farming equipment would be on display.
