Russia keen to work with Indian Railways

The Russian Railways is ready to collaborate with its Indian counterpart to offer state-of-the-art technologies in automation, safety system.

The Russian Railways is ready to collaborate with its Indian counterpart to offer state-of-the-art technologies in automation, safety system, collision repair and monitoring of rail network through Global Positioning System (GPS).

Indian Railways could leverage on technological expertise of Russia in view of the similarities in terms of large network of rail operations in India and Russia, a CII statement said quoting Russian Railways JSC ELTEZA Company Vice President Krylov Anatoly.

Russian Railway officials are in talks with the Ministry of Railways to explore possible collaboration between the two countries, he said.

The collaboration between the two railways would also give the option of getting the Sputnik Technology to the Indian partner.

"In Russia, we are trying to put space and aircraft technologies into the existing railways systems" Russian Institute of Space Device Engineering Deputy Director General Kuleshov Pyotre said, adding it is up to the Indian Railway authorities to "choose and pick from the Russian platter."
