"We want the state government to hand over the case to the CBI for a fair probe as we have no faith in the local administration," Himanshu Sabharwal told reporters here after filing the petition with the Commission.

He claimed that his request to transfer the case to the Central investigating agency had been rejected by the state government.

"We have also asked NHRC to issue notices to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, sub-divisional magsitrate and police officials present at the time of the incident for encourging violence and tampering with evidence," Himanshu said.

Media should also be made respondent in the case for being witness to the incident, he added.

The aggrieved son has also written to President A P J Abdul Kalam, seeking his intervention in the matter.

Himanshu is also planning to meet Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar to ask him to ensure a fair investigation.
