Saddam trial resumes after genocide charges

The trial of Saddam Hussein for the killings of 148 Shi'ites two decades ago resumed on Wednesday, a day after the court announced he would face new charges of genocide against the Kurds in the late 1980s.

Saddam was the only defendant present in court, where he will be cross examined, an eye-witness said.
