Sadhvi, 2 others sent to police custody

Three persons including a sadhvi held in connection with the Malegaon & Modasa blasts were remanded to police custody till Nov 3, by a local court.

Three persons including a sadhvi arrested in connection with the Malegaon and Modasa blasts were remanded to police custody till November 3, by a local court on Friday.

All the three accused allegedly involved in the Malegaon and Modasa blasts in Gujarat, were detained by Maharashtra police at Surat and Indore were produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate KD Boche, amidst tight police security were remanded to police custody till November 3.

Ajay Misar, public prosecutor told reporters, Pradnya Singh Thakur a sadhvi from Surat, Shyamlal Bhawarlal and Shiv Narayan Singh were affiliated to the Hindu right wing.

The motorbike used in the Modasa blast is allegedly owned by Thakur, who is related with BJP's student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jan Jagran Manch and also a so-called president of Vande Mataram outfit, the court was told.

After the Malegaon blast the accused had a 400 minutes telephonic conversation between Thakur, Singh and Shiv Narayan, police told the court.

Misar said the case is sensitive and did not revealed much details and said all the three were charged under punishment for murder, attempt to murder and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons and also under some sections of Explosives Act.
