Sadhvi Pragya to undergo treatment at JJ hospital

The special MCOCA court on Thursday directed that Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, be admitted to the state-run JJ hospital here after she fell ill.

The special MCOCA court on Thursday directed that Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, be admitted to the state-run JJ hospital here after she fell ill.

Sadhvi's lawyer Ganesh Sovani today filed an application seeking her hospitalisation after she developed clots in her right forearm and suffered from digestive problems. Sadhvi had earlier been admitted to JJ hospital on March 8 when she complained of stomach problems after being served non-vegetarian food.

"Sadhvi, a strict vegetarian is not able to consume jail food since the time she found pieces of boiled egg in her food and has thus fallen ill," Sovani said.

Special MCOCA Judge Y D Shinde on Thursday directed the jail authorities to admit Sadhvi to hospital. Sadhvi is presently in judicial custody and the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has already filed a chargesheet against her and ten others in connection with the September 29, 2008 Malegaon blast case that left six people dead.
