The Ahmedabad police are yet to register a complaint filed by Shabir Jamal, brother of Sadiq Jamal. Sadiq was killed in January 2003, allegedly in a fake encounter.

Shabir filed the complaint on Saturday. But Crime Branch officers said they were waiting for an order from Gujarat HC.
The court recently ordered a CBI probe and the Crime Branch was asked to lodge a fresh FIR and transfer it to the agency. “The file hasn’t come to me yet,” said Mohan Jha, JCP (Crime Branch).
In his complaint, Shabir named 17 policemen, including former DGP K Chakravarthy, former police commissioner KR Kaushik, joint director of central IB Rajinder Kumar, who was posted in Gujarat then and Mumbai police encounter specialist Daya Nayak.
Sadiq was killed allegedly by a crime branch team led by DG Vanzara.
A petty thief from Bhavnagar, he was branded an LeT operative, responsible for the attempted murders of LK Advani, Narendra Modi and Pravin Togadia.
