The self-styled cultural cops of Shiv Sena took out a procession and torched an effigy of Shetty to register their protest at Luxa area here today. The Shiv Sainiks were raising slogans such as ‘Shilpa Shetty hosh mein aao’, ‘Hindustan ki sanskriti se khilwad band karo’ and ‘nari ka apman band karo’.

The Shiv Sainiks strongly flayed the act and it was against Indian culture and traditions. The demonstrators warned they would never allow Shetty to enter Varanasi.

Ajay Chaubey, Gulshan Kapoor, Shiv Seth, Vishnu Dayal Seth, Varun Singh, Ramesh Vadhavan Bachanu Vishwakarma, Hanuman Prasad and Dharmendra Singh were among others who torched Shetty’s effigy.

Another protest was held at Nai Sarak area where Shetty’s effigy was also torched here today. Anoop Jaiswal led the demonstration.
