The tablet war just got more exciting in India, with Korean major Samsung launching its new 3G Galaxy Tab 750 and 730. Its older seven-inch Galaxy Tab is the most successful non-Apple tablet across the world.
The new Android-based Tab 750, with 16GB memory and 3G connectivity and a screen slightly bigger than the iPad2, is likely to give Apple a run for its money, priced as it is at Rs 36,200, which is marginally less than the iPad2 that costs Rs 36,900.
The smaller Tab 730 has an 8.9-inch screen with 16GB memory and 3G connectivity costs Rs 33,990.
"Consumers all over the world are adopting easy to use and powerful smart mobile devices," said YH Lee, senior vice-president, global marketing, mobile communications business, Samsung Electronics.
"India presents some of the best growth opportunities for smartphones and tablets, which is why it is one of the first few markets where we are launching these new, revolutionary tablets."
The Korean giant's new tablets come at a time when several others have entered the Indian market. Acer's Iconia tablet arrived in May, Blackberry-maker Research in Motion launched its PlayBook in June and Motorola Xoom and HTC Flyer last month.

{{/usCountry}}Samsung has worked on catering specifically to Indian users with its Galaxy Tabs, which come bundled with My Reader that gives users access to 17 Indian magazines, 17 Indian newspapers and 30,000 Indian language books.
Its Mobile TV application gives consumers access to 55 Indian television channels.
