Shree Saptshrungi Nivasini Devi Trust in Kalwan taluka took the decision to arm the people visiting the shrine with helmets during a meeting yesterday, trust sources said today.

The decision comes after three persons were injured in a landslide incident on Sunday night at the temple, which has been closed since the day for clearing the debris and repair work, sources added.

However, the implementation of the decision seems difficult during the festival of Navratri and Chaitra Poornima, when lakhs of pilgrims from different parts of the state, especially from Khandesh region visit this famous shrine.

Besides, it was also decided in the meeting that private buses will not be allowed to ply on the 10-km stretch of Nanduri Ghat during the night and special buses of state road transport corporation will carry piligirms to the temple.
