Saradha case: CBI to get documents from WB, Odisha

The CBI is likely to get vital documents linked to the Rs 10,000-crore Saradha chit fund case from authorities in West Bengal and Odisha which will be scrutinised to enable the agency to register multiple FIRs soon.

The CBI is likely to get vital documents linked to the Rs 10,000-crore Saradha chit fund case from authorities in West Bengal and Odisha which will be scrutinised to enable the agency to register multiple FIRs soon.

SIT officials also met top officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kolkata for coordination and sharing vital case information, though the two central agencies are investigating the irregularities separately.

The CBI’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has formally requested the chief secretary and state police chief of West Bengal and Odisha, respectively, for transfer of case-related documents.

CBI’s joint director Rajiv Singh, who heads the SIT, met the top officials of WB and Odisha to make the request, confirmed a CBI source.
