The Court dismissed the appeal filed by Dayanand Rayu Mandrekar and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar against the Bombay High Court verdict. The judgement was delivered by a bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan.

While Mandrekar was disqualified for holding the office of Chairman of Khadhi Gram Udyog, Arlekar was the Chairman of Goa State Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation Limited.

They were disqualified by the Bombay High Court Verdict of May 27, 2005.
