Defence lawyer, Jos Peter D'Souza insisted that Fiona should identify the clothes, blue half pants and underwear, worn by Scarlet on the intervening night of February 17-18, 2008 when she was found dead on Anjuna shore.

Tears rolled down the mother's cheek when she examined and identified Scarlet's belongings.

Fiona had stated that two days after her daughter's death she was scouring the spot behind a shack where she had found these clothes along with a sandal.

The British mother is here to depose before Goa Children's court, which is prosecuting two locals arrested for drugging, raping and leaving Scarlet to die in Goa.

Placido Carvalho and Samson D'Souza, were arrested by Goa Police before the case was handed over to CBI for further investigation.

Initially, S R Rivonkar, a public prosecutor representing CBI, objected to defense's demand to show Scarlet's belongings to Fiona.
