THE GOVERNMENT high schools in the state have been given a target of achieving minimum 60 per cent results in the board exams of 2007.
The principals and the district-level officials have been warned of strict action if results fall below this level. Action would also be taken against those schools that post results lower than that achieved last year (2006), said L S Baghel.
The Commissioner of Public Instruction (CPI) was speaking at a meeting attended by the principals of the schools, district education officers, block education officers and principals of tribal development department schools through SATCOM on Tuesday.
The schools and the officials of the department were asked to get their act together to achieve the best possible results. Taking a strict view regarding the attachment of teachers for works of other departments, the CPI also warned of action against principals of the schools from where the teachers are attached.
The principals were asked to clearly refuse to spare teachers for any non-teaching work. The state government has already issued directives that the teachers should not be used for other works.
During the meeting, the CPI also promised that arrangement of honorarium would be made for the mobile teachers to be appointed in various districts.
