Nearly 10 days after skeletons were removed from a drain outside Moninder Singh Pandher’s D-5 house in Noida, parents from all over Delhi and its neighbouring areas are thronging the place in search of their missing children.
The rush is huge — till 6 pm, 118 complaints had been received and documented in two registers. Noida’s Senior Superintendent of Police, RKS Rathore, has deputed two policemen solely for taking down details and pictures of children who their parents fear could have been among the victims.
Santosh Kumar Chauhan and Virendra Salan, the policemen deputed for the job, told the Hindustan Times on Sunday that the majority of the complainants are from Delhi. Many people are coming to Noida from as far as Sonepat, Panipat, Gurgaon, Bihar, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr, they said.
One such complainant who turned up at the makeshift camp on Sunday was Mohammad Yunus, a resident of Gurgaon. "My 18-year-old son Mohammad Manzoor Alam went missing on July 28 last year. Gurgaon police have not lodged a missing complaint. My son may have been a victim of these serial killers,” he said.
Teta Ram came all the way from Bihar in search of his 15-year-old son, Vinod Kumar, who was allegedly kidnapped by one Bhulichand. "When police arrested him (Bhulichand) he told them that he had sold my son in Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad to some hotel owner. When I went to Ghaziabad I was told that Vinod may be among the victims of serial killers so I have come here," he said.
