The sources said the state government had been asked to inform the joint general manager of the Imphal airport in advance whenever any VVIP would come to the airport.

They also said the state government had urged Union Home Minister P Chidambaram during his recent visit to Manipur to set up two new battalions of India Reserve Battalion (IRB) in the state for deploying particularly at national highways and other important places.
