The broad outlines of this exercise were made during the Collectors’ conference, as the officers taken to task by the Chief Minister were shifted from their districts. Officers who had faced the anger of BJP legislators and those who were considered ‘non-performers’ on various parameters were either not shifted or were transferred to some other districts.

Surprisingly, some officers whose initiatives were appreciated by the Chief Minister were also removed from their present districts. While Gulshan Bamra, who received the Chief Minister’s praise was shifted to Mantralaya, his Seoni counterpart Dr G K Saraswat was shifted to a small district of Guna.

Similarly, Dewas Collector S K Mishra, who also received Chief Minister’s appreciation has also been removed from the district and posted at Sehore, from where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is likely to contest elections.

Bhind Collector Sudha Choudhary has been shifted to Mantralaya. Indore Division Additional Commissioner K M Gautam has been posted as Narsinghpur Collector. The present incumbent, Manish Rastogi has been shifted to Satna in the same capacity.
