Shiv Sena, a key ally of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, would field its candidates against BJP nominees for two Lok Sabha seats in Goa.

Advocate Samir Bandodkar would contest from North Goa against Union Minister Shripad Naik of the BJP, Sena sources said in Mumbai on Saturday.

The party's candidate for the South Goa seat would be Vishnu Prabhu, a former member of the state assembly and ex-leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), who would challenge BJP's Ramakant Angle, the sources said.

Their candidature was finalised by the Sena supremo Bal Thackeray following recommendation of their names by party Rajya Sabha MP Eknath Thakur, who is party observer for the state.

Incidentally, the Sena has a tie-up with the BJP in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha polls.
