In limited deals, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Monday declined by over 53 points mainly due to political developments and surging crude oil prices.

The Sensex fell by 53.87 points to 10,812.64 after moving in both directions—to a low of 10,780.01 and a high of 10,869.66 points.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty moved between 3,178.50 and 3,142.55 before ending lower by 25.65 points at 3,151.10 points.
