Sensex gains 63 points in early trade

The benchmark index gains 63.86 points on sustained buying by funds in select blue-chip stocks.

Continuing with its upward march, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex rose by another 63 points in early trade on Tuesday on sustained buying by funds in select blue-chip stocks.

The 30-share index, Sensex, which had gained over 392 points in the past two trading sessions, gained another 63.86 points at 14,466.76 in first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange Nifty was up by 10.90 points at 4,175.45.

Major support came in from stocks like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Reliance Communications, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, ACC, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Hero Honda, ICICI Bank, Maruti Udyog and Hero Honda.
