Sensex up 4 points in early trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange rebounded to quote 4.67 points higher at 14,019.59 in the first 10 minutes of trading.

After a weak start, the benchmark Sensex was up by over 4 points on Thursday on the Bombay Stock Exchange on selective buying by funds as well as retail investors.

The BSE 30-share sensitive index, Sensex, which lost nearly 32 points at the outset rebounded to quote 4.67 points higher at 14,019.59 in the first 10 minutes of trading.

Similarly, the broader National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, was up by 2.95 points at 4,027.00.

The major support came in from stocks like Reliance Industries, Reliance Capital, Reliance Energy, BHEL and ACC.

Refining stocks such as Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum and Indian oil were also in demand due to cooling crude oil prices in the global markets.
