Sensex up 66 pts in early trade

Picking up from where it left last week, the benchmark BSE index makes smart gains on sustained buying by funds.

The benchmark sensex, rose over 66.26 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday sustained by funds.

The sensex, which had reached the psychological 12,000 mark level in previous trade, rose further by 66.25 at 12,075.85 in first five minutes of trade.

Meanwhile, the second wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose by 17.90 points at 3,496.50.

The major supporter indices were ACC, Larsen and Toubro, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, Reliance industries, Reliance Communication, ONGC, BHEL and Infosys.
