Seven persons of a family were killed and several others injured in a road accident at Baihata in lower Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district on Wednesday morning.
The car in which the seven people were coming from upper Assam collided with a Tezpur-Guwahati bus on National Highway 52, police said.

As both the vehicles were travelling at high speed, under the impact of the collision, the car was dragged for about 40 metres and a portion of the vehicle completely crushed.
Several bus passengers received simple injuries and they were released after being administered first-aid in nearby health centres.
