Several policemen and ABVP activists sustained injuries, as the students resorted to throwing stones.

The ABVP activists took out a procession in Patna to protest anarchy and corruption in education in the state. The leaders said the education system had been on a rapid slide in the state, but the government was not concerned.

However, as soon as the procession reached R-Block round-about, which connects to the road leading to the Vidhan Sabha, after passing through the heart of the city, the police closed the gate. The ABVP activists tried to break open the gate and even pelted stones.

The police used water cannons, rubber bullets and tear gas, but the students did not budge. Later, the police resorted to lathi-charge. The battle between the police and the ABVP activists continued for an hour in the heart of the city.
