An Argentinian couple were recently arrested for making love outside a mayor's office in broad daylight.
The man and woman, in their mid-30s, were having sex in a completely nude state on a bench by the Nahuel Huapi river in Bariloche, and when cops arrived to arrest them, they shocked them further, by asking the officers to let them finish what they were doing.
A crowd gathered and cheered the couple on, but the Mayor of Bariloche said he was shocked by the spectacle.
Not ashamed of the incident, the woman concerned told police that she had always fantasised about having sex outside the mayor's office while politicians were working inside.
"They are otherwise two very respectable citizens but they told us they had this urge to have sex in public and that it was very strong and they couldn't control it," Fox News quoted a police spokesperson, as saying.
The couple were arrested on charges of disrespecting public space and indecent exposure.
Who leads sex race?
Hong Kongers, once found to prefer work to sex, have become a little more sexually active - and picked up a few special interests along the way.
Residents of the Chinese territory are now having regular sex, and doing it in more places, with more people and in more ways, the survey by HK Magazine found.
More than 10 per cent of respondents said they'd had sex with so many partners that they had lost count. More than half of the men said they had paid for sex, while that figure for women was 2.4 per cent.
The survey of 1,500 people, which also took place in the Bangkok and Singapore, found Hong Kongers were more prepared to have sex to further their careers and that an equal number of men and women - around 86 per cent - like to talk dirty.
The findings are in contrast to a survey by condom company Durex last year that placed Hong Kongers at the bottom of the world's sex league table, having sex just 79 times a year.
However, the HK Magazine survey did unearth some less surprising facts.
In a city where 98 per cent of the population has one or more mobile phones, 38 per cent of men and 35 per cent of women said they had interrupted sex to answer a call.
