Shandilya in quarters of billiards singles

Ashok Shandilya outclassed his Bahrain rival Ahmed Ghulam Hassan Muanedi in three straight frames to enter the quarter finals of the Asian Games billiards singles in Doha on Monday.

Shandilya, a gold medallist at the Busan Games four years ago, carved out a 100-61, 101-2, 100-10 victory.

Also through to the last eight in the cue sports of snooker (doubles) was the Indian duo of Manan Chandra and Yasin Merchant who overwhelmed their Sri Lankan opponents W Jayawardene and W Pushpakumara by 3-0 in a round of 16 tie.
