He is the arguably new face of Indian Haute Couture. An alumni of N.I.F.T. Kolkata's inaugural batch with an award for the most creative designer and an apprenticeship with fashion guru J J Vallaya, today this Kolkata based designer - Shantanu Goenka , has not only launched his own label but has also managed to realize his dreams of creating beautiful clothes which he terms as - " my art, my babies, my life." His forte is Indian trousseau & bridal wear for women though he occasionally does some menswear too on request. The hallmark of his design philosophy lies in not being afraid to experiment.

He operates from his own low profile studio in Kolkata which has been recently relaunched with a fresh new look and looks nothing less than a Parisian couture salon. Over the past few years he has cultivated a set of clients both nationally as well as internationally who rely on him for his craftsmanship, quality and versatility. They receive his personal attention and suggestions about the right colour, methods of drape, carriage, even about the right kind of accessories, jewellery, hair and even make-up tips to compliment his clothes. In a nutshell he sells them a complete look.

As a thorough perfectionist he looks into every possible detail of his garments and ensures quality finish and flawless workmanship. He would even discourage his client to buy an outfit if he feels it is not suiting their personality as he feels that the right kind of garment should go in the hands of the right kind of wearer.

Apart from his studio in Kolkata, one can get his creations at Ensemble- Ambawatta & Santushti in Delhi, Ensemble lion gate & Crossroads in Mumbai & Oorja & Elahe in Hyderabad.
