An attempt to suicide case has been registered against her. The cops were probing if the allegation of negligence at the hospital was true. Some passers-by informed the policemen at the Stadium outpost after they spotted a woman jumping into the river from Hanuman Setu. By the time the in-charge of the outpost AP Singh rushed the boatmen jumped into the river and rescued her.

The woman identified herself as Anita Mishra (40) of Husainganj. Later, she narrated her woes that forced her to take the extreme step. Anita said she runs a beauty parlour to earn daily bread. Her husband Shrikant, who is an alcoholic used to spend all the money on liquor. Shrikant has been suffering from jaundice for last two months, she said. Despite her repeated requests to go for check-up, Shrikant neither went to the doctor nor he stopped taking liquor.
