Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will be bestowed with the prestigious The Lokmanya Tilak Award for 2010 for her contribution to social progress, the Pune-based Lokmanya Tilak Trust announced on Thursday.

The award is bestowed every year on a person who has strived for the well being and progress of the society and the nation, the trust president Deepak Tilak told a press conference.
The award ceremony will take place on August 1, coinciding with Lokmanya Tilak's 89th death anniversary, he said.
The award was constituted in 1983.
